In the Summer of 2025 we were asked to make some magic in Vienna and help set up a pizzeria. Poco was born and Vienna slowly became our favourite city. Pop down for a MacGyver, an apricot cosmopolitan and a banoffee pie if you're ever in Spittelberg. If you want to know what else is worth seeing there we've written a list below the images.

We've been to the below places three or more times which in our opinion the only way to recommend an establishment. Bar Furore for a hectic quick Paloma on the street, Bistro Fantasy for a whacky meal over mezcalitas. Cafe Espresso for the best glass of water (trust us) and coffee in morning and natural wine in evening. Cafe Stark for coffee and tuna melts. Zum Renner is in the edge of Vienna next to the wine valleys. Get a glass of white wine and a bowl of oxtail soup with lots of bread and butter. One of the best lunches we had in 2026. Finally. In the first district is an old cafe in a beautiful square that could be Italy. But it's not. The artichect who designed the interior is one of Vienna's most legendary. The service is brisk but Viennese warm. Go for pints at sunset in the square. Alte Bäckerei for a chic drink and a game of cards.

Now what Vienna is maybe most famous for culinary-wise are their Wurstel Stands. You can basically grab a hotdog any time. But calling it a hotdog is an outrage. It's a million times better than that. We've eaten a lot. These are the best ones. Alles Wurst was started by an ex Michelin guy. Everything is good. They even have beef tartare and calamari. Hermann's is the vibiest. Filled with students in a carpark it's sort of a pre and afters spot. Extra Wurstel is the most solid. Always get the Scharfe Kasekrainer if you can (spicy sausage filled with cheese).

Three best Wurstel Stands = Extra Wurstel, Hermann's Wurststand, Alles Wurst.

Final mention goes to the antique shops. They're all pretty good but the best one we found stuff in was called Freiverkauf. It's disorganised which makes for the best shops. That being said. You'll find gems anywhere. Also if you wanna go digging for records - go to Sing Sing Records. Full of crazy finds in the crates - all for 2-3 euros a pop.
